Before founding Rainbow Montessori, my world was grounded in biological science and translational medical research during my early career and training. My work relied on careful observation, deep patience, and respect for natural processes. When my first daughter was born, those same analytical instincts kicked in. I dove into developmental research, searching for an environment that would honor the incredible potential of early childhood.
 

I instinctively knew what young minds truly needed: a calm, gentle, and intentional sanctuary. A place where a child’s natural curiosity isn't rushed or drilled, but allowed to unfold with pure joy. Authentic Montessori education was the answer.

The Turning Point

As I searched for a school in the San Gabriel Valley, I struggled to find a space that held both pedagogical depth and emotional gentleness. Too often, schools carrying the "Montessori" name operated like high-density, chaotic daycares with a few wooden materials placed on a shelf, or like rigid prep programs focused on compliance over discovery.

I couldn't find a peaceful, high-attunement environment that protected the sacred pace of childhood while honoring authentic Montessori principles.

So, I decided to build it myself.

A Commitment to the Gentle Art of Montessori

I stepped away from the research lab to dedicate three years to deep study—completing Child Development coursework, California Teacher Credentialing requirements, and rigorous, intensive Montessori training through UC Irvine. Under the mentorship of veteran master guides, I learned how to blend scientific precision with deep attunement to a child's inner emotional world.

I discovered that true learning happens best not through pressure, but through joyful, child-led exploration inside a peaceful, beautifully prepared environment.
